Endorsements:Green Party of Minnesota.
Most important issue: During my six months in Washington observing the Minnesota congressional delegation, I witnessed as the Appropriations Committee funded $83 billion to the war — OFF BUDGET! My presence at these meetings was a challenge to the silence of the Democratic leadership on the war, health care and renewable energy. I provide leadership on all of the major issues in this year’s race. Now, for the first time these issues are actively being discussed by every candidate in the race. As your representative I will go to Washington PAC-money-free, committed not to fundraising, but to working for you.
Views: Candidates were asked to respond to statements on five policy issues. They were given seven options: "Strongly agree", "Somewhat agree", "Have mixed feelings", "Somewhat disagree", "Strongly disagree", "Have no opinion" and "Do not wish to respond."
Congress should insist that the United States begin withdrawing troops from Iraq in 2007. Strongly agree
Congress should pass a law that strengthens enforcement against employers who hire illegal immigrants. Strongly agree
A portion of the federal tax cuts enacted starting in 2001 should be repealed to help balance the federal budget. Strongly agree
The U.S. Constitution should be amended to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Strongly disagree
The federal government should further regulate emissions from cars, trucks and other motor vehicles to slow global warming. Strongly agree
