| Most important issue: |
I would work on strengthening community partnerships (public, private and nonprofit) with the Minneapolis public schools. The focus will be on improved school and community accountability for the recruitment, retention and graduation of students in the district. There needs to be closer partnerships with the community where each is clear about their respective roles and how to measure and report on progress. I will seek to have performance on standardized tests be only one measurement of student progress. I will look for ways to celebrate school progress while continuing to work to do better. |
