| Most important issue: | I have used my business and financial background to ensure the wise use of taxpayer money. With surplus revenues the year before, it makes little sense that our property tax levy should increase. My proposal for no tax levy increase was adopted for 2006. I voted against the 2007 tax increase because of surplus revenues. I have called for no increase in 2008. I have proposed that we accelerate spending for infrastructure/park improvements from our $28 million capital improvement reserve fund. I believe the accumulation of these reserves, without the public’s benefit of use, is a form of over-taxation. |
