| Most important issue: | As I have been talking with voters, it is apparent that many are concerned and struggling with the increase in property taxes and mandated repair programs. Many people are working two jobs, retired, on fixed budgets or unemployed. The Metropolitan Council has deemed us as an Inflow and Infiltration City, whereby homeowners are required to spend thousands of dollars to repair or replace their sanitary sewer pipes to stop ground water from entering the system. The $380,000 yearly fine that is being imposed by the Met Council needs to end because homeowners are already paying to make the mandated repairs. |
