Responsive local government is the most important issue facing our city. Providing efficient government services, providing a safe and non-intimidating environment, and providing accessible government are the three areas where I want to improve the city?s performance. High city taxes are a perpetual issue, and while Independence has one of the highest tax rates for comparable cities, it is one area where progress can be made. Increased sensitivity to our citizens? concerns is another area where I can facilitate change to a better way of operating. I look forward to providing my energy to build a sustainable city. |
