| Most important issue: | Funding looms as ISD .12's most pressing issue. The district has done an outstanding job of preparing students in academics, citizenship, sportsmanship and other attributes needed in the post-secondary world. They have done so on a very limited budget, spending less per student than our neighboring districts. The quality and quantity of student opportunities must be maintained and even expanded. This requires understanding the budget and the impact of local needs while grasping the complexity of state education funding. As a Board member, I will continue to work for an equitable funding formula that does not disadvantage our students nor further burden our taxpayers. |
